Collette Dinnigan Shows off in Paris

Paris, March 11, 2009

AUSTRALIAN designer Collette Dinnigan showed Paris a thing or two with a collection that won both acclaim and wearability points with the often critical European fashion press. Not only
did Dinnigan manage to create her designs in the mood of the times but also kept it glamourous and most importantly for buyers – wearable. “It’s Hollywood glamour meets Edwardian with lots of tulle and beaded bodices”, Dinnigan said. She sent her models down the catwalk in ballet-style tulle skirted gowns and spider-fine lace panelled
blouses. A silver beaded tank dress with metallic lace ruffling at the neckline showed her passion for all things feminine and fun. Dinnigan make a gentle gesture towards the difficult economic times in style and flair, a showing of what Australians do best – make best of a bad situation. Lets hope some of the Australian optimism rubs off in Europe!
