Thank you 2017.

It’s amazing what you find when you take a step back at the end of a year to really grasp the magnitude of all the things you’ve done, managed, cared for and cared about. All the things you’ve taken on, achieved and struggled with. All the people you’ve met, the corners of the globe you’ve touched, the culture and history you’ve bathed in. The gratitude for family and friends and all they do for you, as well as the work you’ve helped shape, create, and for me this year – make a difference with. I’m thankful for it all. All my trials, tribulations and the opportunities that have come from those.

I started the year on a rock by the ocean in Bouddi National Park, watching the sunrise and imagining a wonderful year ahead. I manifested a great year and a great year I got.

From cage diving with Great Whites in Port Lincoln, to twilight sailing around Sydney Harbour, to special friends on a beautiful QLD farm, to trekking the 45km from Jenolan Caves to Katoomba in a day, alone; to conquering Nepal and Everest Base Camp, to surviving a tour of India on my own (complete with a hellish 24 hour train journey from Delhi to Varanasi), to sending a prayer down the River Ganges, to the special people I’ve met on the journey … to news of a little niece on the way 🙂

– 2017 has had it all.

From the depths of the sea, to the tip of the world’s highest mountain, to all the ordinariness in between – I’m taking this moment to shamelessly celebrate my victories.

Time to now let the past go and let the future in. I can’t wait for 2018.

 I’m ready.
